Yahoo says net auction fraud plunged after enhanced ID checks

TOKYO — Internet auction fraud plunged sharply after enhanced ID checks and other steps were taken, with reported damage last year reduced to about 10% of what was the worst year ever in 2005, according to Yahoo Japan Corp, the operator of Japan's largest Internet auction site.
